We are seeking a dedicated, objective, and collaborative HR Committee Volunteer to support our organizational development efforts. In this role, you will work alongside our HR lead or Board to provide oversight, guidance, and project-based support for human resources initiatives. If you possess professional HR experience, a commitment to equity and best practices, and a desire to contribute your skills to a mission-driven environment, this is an excellent opportunity to impact our workforce culture and operational effectiveness.Key ResponsibilitiesCommittee Participation: Attend regular committee meetings to review HR strategies, contribute to policy discussions, and provide input on organizational development initiatives.Project-Based Support: Assist with specific HR projects, such as reviewing employee handbooks, analyzing compensation structures, or supporting the development of recruitment and onboarding materials.Compliance Review: Offer specialized insights or conduct research to ensure our HR policies reflect current labor laws and industry-standard practices.Strategic Advising: Provide objective feedback to leadership on sensitive HR matters, including performance management, staff engagement, and conflict resolution frameworks.Document Development: Assist in drafting or revising organizational HR documents, job descriptions, and training manuals to ensure clarity, professionalism, and alignment with our mission.Diversity & Inclusion Advocacy: Champion inclusive practices within our workforce, helping to build strategies that foster a diverse and equitable environment.Requirements & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; active or retired HR professionals are highly encouraged to apply.Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Human Resources; experience in non-profit or volunteer-led organizations is a significant asset.Technical Skills:Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices.Proficiency in standard office software (Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).Personal Attributes:Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively within a committee structure, balancing diverse viewpoints to reach consensus.Objective & Confidential: Must possess a high degree of integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive organizational or personnel information.Proactive & Reliable: Capacity to commit to recurring committee meetings and follow through on independent project tasks.Strategic Thinker: Ability to translate complex HR challenges into practical, mission-aligned recommendations.Tags: HR Committee, Volunteer, Organizational Development, Strategy, HR Best Practices, Non-profit
