Job Responsibilities
Personalized Training: Develop customized exercise programs tailored to individual member needs, fitness levels, and health objectives.
Instruction & Coaching: Lead one-on-one and small group training sessions, providing clear demonstrations, cues, and corrections to ensure proper form and injury prevention.
Member Engagement: Actively interact with gym members on the floor, providing guidance on equipment usage, offering encouragement, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Goal Tracking: Regularly monitor member progress through fitness assessments (body composition, strength testing, endurance) and adjust programs accordingly to ensure continuous results.
Safety & Maintenance: Ensure all training activities comply with gym safety protocols and assist in keeping the workout floor clean, organized, and equipment well-maintained.
Consultation: Conduct fitness consultations to identify member goals, medical history, and exercise preferences to drive personal training sales and retention.
Professional Development: Stay updated on current fitness trends, exercise science research, and industry best practices to provide top-tier service.
Job Requirements
Education/Certification: Current recognized Personal Training Certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA, or equivalent). Valid CPR/AED certification is mandatory.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in personal training or group fitness instruction.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of human anatomy, exercise physiology, and movement mechanics.
Ability to design programming for diverse populations (e.g., general fitness, seniors, athletes).
Proficiency in utilizing gym software or apps for scheduling and tracking client data.
Soft Skills:
Motivational: A natural ability to inspire clients and maintain a high level of enthusiasm throughout sessions.
Communication: Exceptional listening skills to understand client needs and clear, concise communication to explain exercises.
Empathy: Ability to connect with people of various backgrounds and fitness levels, building trust and rapport.
Adaptability: Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adjust workouts on the fly based on client feedback or fatigue.
