Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, articulate, and culturally sensitive English Conversation Teacher to join our language faculty. Your primary objective is not just to teach grammar or vocabulary, but to empower students to speak with confidence, fluency, and nuance. You will be the catalyst for breaking down the "language barrier," creating a safe and engaging space where students transform their passive knowledge of English into active, real-world communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Lead interactive conversation classes for various proficiency levels, focusing on natural phrasing, pronunciation, intonation, and idiomatic expressions.
Curriculum Design: Create dynamic, high-engagement lesson plans based on real-world scenarios: professional negotiations, travel, cultural discussions, current events, and social interaction.
Facilitate Immersion: Lead workshops or "English Clubs" that encourage students to think in English rather than translating, utilizing role-plays, debates, and task-based learning.
Personalized Feedback: Provide consistent, constructive feedback on student progress, focusing on overcoming common learner hurdles like fossilized errors, lack of confidence, and speed of speech.
Technology Integration: Utilize digital tools (e.g., audio/video recording, AI pronunciation tools, online collaboration platforms) to help students track their own improvements.
Create a Supportive Environment: Foster a classroom culture where students feel comfortable making mistakes—treating errors as stepping stones to mastery rather than failures.
Cross-Cultural Mentorship: Act as a cultural mediator, helping students understand not just the language, but the cultural context, etiquette, and social nuances of English-speaking environments.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field; TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification is highly preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in ESL/EFL instruction, specifically focusing on conversation, public speaking, or corporate communication training.
Language Proficiency: Native or near-native level of English fluency with a clear, standard accent and an excellent grasp of diverse English dialects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using digital classroom tools (Zoom, Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards).
Ability to use multimedia resources (podcasts, YouTube, news articles) as conversational prompts.
Soft Skills:
